Japan sees a rise in prices in November; household spending & income fall
Japan’s government on Friday reported consumer price index was up 0.3 per cent from a year earlier in November. Consumer prices in Japan increased for the first time in five months in November. It was however down 0.3 per cent from October, according to official data. Excluding food and energy, the consumer price index rose 0.9 per cent. Hidenobu Tokuda, a senior economist at Mizuho Research Institute believes “The downward pressure from falling oil prices seems to have run its course, which helped core CPI rise.”
