US Sen. Maj. Leader Schumer: Infrastructure bill on path to pass Tuesday morning

US Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer told reporters on Monday that the infrastructure bill is on the path to passing Tuesday morning, as reported by Reuters. 

"Senate will also take up $3.5 trillion social spending bill before leaving for August recess," Schumer added.

Market reaction

These remarks failed to help the market mood improve. As of writing, the S&P 500 Index was down 0.1% on the day at 4,432 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was losing 0.22% at 35,131. Finally, the Nasdaq Composite was posting small daily gains at 15,124.
