Germany Election: SPD clings to narrow lead over Merkel's conservatives – Forsa Poll

According to the latest German federal election poll by Forsa, the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD) stand at 25% against Chancellor Angela Merkel's centre-right Christian Democratic Union and its Bavarian sister party, the Christian Social Union, (CDU/CSU), at 22%. The environmental party, Greens, comes third with 17%.

Market reaction

Following Monday's intense flight to safety, risk flows continue to dominate the financial markets on Tuesday. As of writing, Germany's DAX Index was up 1.52% on a daily basis at 15,360. Meanwhile, the EUR/USD is posting modest daily gains at 1.1737.
